To apply to ZAD, the artistic project must include a component of genuine interaction with artists in the host cities, whether through a partnership in presentations or by organising workshops and exchange sessions. Some examples of partnerships include an artist presenting their music album in Syria in partnership with musicians residing in Syria, or an artist’s performance being accompanied by an interactive workshop on their specialisation within the performing arts.
Ettijahat – Independent Culture strives in its work to be in constant exchange with the needs of the Syrian arts and culture sector, its diaspora, and beyond with the Arab Levant region. This is done through support and empowerment frameworks that meet these different needs and improve the interaction of this sector with public life. Ettijahat periodically publishes open calls for the organisation’s different areas of work, targeting individuals, groups and artistic entities and institutions.
