To apply to ZAD, the artistic project must include a component of genuine interaction with artists in the host cities, whether through a partnership in presentations or by organising workshops and exchange sessions. Some examples of partnerships include an artist presenting their music album in Syria in partnership with musicians residing in Syria, or an artist's performance being accompanied by an interactive workshop on their specialisation within the performing arts.

What types of artistic projects will ZAD Syria support?

ZAD Syria supports the mobility of all artistic works (with the exception of film) that are presented in front of a new audience in new spaces and cities in Syria. Examples include theatrical performances, live art shows, concerts, art exhibitions, and multidisciplinary installations. ZAD Syria does not support film screenings, as these will be supported by the Narratives of Today initiative launched by Ettijahat in collaboration with Aflamuna Foundation.
